Reduced fat and calorie, Garlic Cheesey Bread

Reduced Fat & Calorie Garlic Cheesy Bread


What you will need:

  • 1 loaf french bread (fresh)
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 4 cups grated cheese
  • 2 tablespoons granulated or powdered garlic (more if you like)
  • fresh or dried parsley
  • fresh or dried basil
  • Basting brush 
  • Baking sheet (Image Two)

Directions:

  1. Warm butter till it is near liquid state, don't worry if it does liquefy you can still use it.
  2. Mix garlic, parsley, and basil into butter till evenly distributed.
  3. Turn oven on to 400 F.
  4. Cut the loaf of french bread in half (see image one).
  5. Use basting brush to spread most of butter mixture over both halves of the bread, save a little bit.
  6. Turn face down (image one) on the baking sheet.
  7. Put in oven heated or not, wait about 5 minutes or until you smell garlic coming from the oven.
  8. Pull bread from oven, while hot flip the bread over it should be face up and there should be some butter on the pan.
  9. Brush remaining butter mix over the top and sides of the bread, just a light coat.
  10. Take cheese about 4 cups (more if you want) and distribute till covered and bake for another 5 min or until cheese is completely melted. (Image 2 & 3)
  11. Let cool and then cut into strips (Image 4). Serve with most any meal or as a snack or appetizer.
